A Summary of the Research on the Effects of Test Accommodations: 2005-2006
This report provides an update on testing accommodations research, with a focus on the effect of accommodations on students with disabilities (SWDs). The primary purpose of the research featured in this review is to evaluate the comparability of test scores when assessments are administered with and without accommodations. The secondary purpose is to report on the current accommodations practices (in general and for populations exhibiting specific disabilities).
This sound report focuses on current research (2005-2006) relative to the effects of test accommodations on student scores. The report and its informative appendices with multiple tables may be useful to address questions related to current test accommodation practices and the effect on student scores.
