Everything You Need to Know About ESSA: Part 2 of 3
This blog post from the Committee for Children highlights three important opportunities found in ESSA to advance social and emotional learning (SEL) in schools and states. These areas of opportunity are (1) school accountability systems, (2) grant programs, and (3) school improvement and turnaround. Succinct summaries of the ESSA regulations related to these areas are provided in this blog post.
For stakeholders interested in SEL and ESSA, this is a short, readable summary of the ESSA regulations. Included in this post are links to other organizations (e.g., Education Week, CCSSO, ASCD) that regularly update information on ESSA and SEL.
