Issue Paper 2: The Exception for Advanced Mathematics Assessments in 8th Grade
This issue paper discusses potential flexibility for the mathematics assessment students take in grade 8. Under ESSA, students in grade 8 who are enrolled in an advanced mathematics course will have the option to take the corresponding end-of-course assessment, rather than the statewide grade 8 mathematics assessment.
