Michigan Assessment Consortium
The Michigan Assessment Consortium is a professional association that works to advance assessment literacy by promoting assessment knowledge, providing professional development, and producing and sharing assessment tools. This web site contains white papers, presentations, videotapes of assessment concepts, a listing of upcoming Michigan assessment-related events, and recordings of videoconferences.
The purposes of this web site are clearly described and generally met using reasonable methods. The site is an ambitious effort containing many resources that states and educators may find useful. Communications quality is acceptable. However, some of the videotapes are long talking heads with few if any graphics, and would be better presented as written text. Navigation can be a bit tricky and the content overall, like many web sites, tends to be somewhat promotional. Evidence of effectiveness is not discussed but a learning effect on students is possible.
