Science Technology Engineering Arts Math
The San Diego County Office of Education (SDCOE) is dedicated to increasing youth’s experience with Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM). SDCOE created a STEAM directory that is intended to enable the public, educators, and STEAM partners to identify valuable STEAM resources. Their goal is to link preK-16 schools, educators, after-school programs, community-based organizations, institutions of higher education, STEAM experts and the community with local resources that will expose students to high quality STEAM learning, career pathways, and ignite their interest in STEAM learning.
Although many of the organizations listed in the SDCOE directory are California-based (e.g., San Diego Zoo, Caltech), some are national organizations that offer STEAM-related resources. Moreover, some of the California-based organizations also provide materials, resources, and services nationwide. The SDCEO directory is searchable by focus (subject) area, resource type (e.g., professional development, curriculum), and grade level. Clicking on an organization yields additional information such as contact information and if there is a fee for service.
