Formative Assessment – Supporting Students’ Learning

This paper provides information on the elements of formative assessment and the role of formative assessment in teaching and learning. It also elaborates on three formative assessment research projects at ETS. These include projects focused on the use of learning progressions, targeted professional development, and the effects of observation protocols to support formative assessment practice.

STEM to STEAM: Resources Toolkit

Edutopia has curated three collections related to STEAM: STEM, STEAM, and Maker Education. These collections contain resources on integrating Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) and on infusing the arts to transform STEM into STEAM. These collections will help teachers plan different approaches to integrated studies involving STEAM.
