Academic Word Finder
Academic Word Finder is a tool to support educators interested in identifying academic vocabulary words in text. The tool is designed to identify tier two words from a given text. To use the tool, educators upload text selections that they wish to analyze. Once text analysis is complete, word lists are generated for review and include words designated above, on, and below grade level.
The Academic Word Finder tool should be used as a support for planning and is not intended to replace a teacher’s own text analysis. The tool is useful to teachers interested in a resource that would assist them in identifying Tier 2 words they might have overlooked, or district and state-level curriculum specialists designing lessons or curricula. Note that an account is required for use and that educators can save text analysis entries for later reference and review.
