Data-Driven Math Acceleration: Improving Outcomes Through PAUSD’s Standards-Aligned Math Validation Process
In collaboration with WestEd, the Palo Alto Unified School District developed the Math Validation Process (MVP) to assess middle school math acceleartion readiness through a rigorous, standards-aligned assessment. By consolidating five years of math content into three years, the MVP offers students a clear pathway to demonstrate mastery and advancement to higher level courses. This session explored the collaboration and discussed implementation practicies that maintain academic rigor while expanding course access.
