Every Student Succeeds Act Final Regulations
Based on stakeholder feedback, the U.S. Department of Education has created and released final regulations for the accountability, data reporting, and state plan provisions of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). The final regulations provide information on the flexibility states have to incorporates new measures of school quality or student success into their accountability systems, while maintaining focus on improvement of academic outcomes. These final regulations also outline how states will select interventions for schools and students and how states will present key school data to parents and stakeholders. States also have further guidance in developing their consolidated state plans and submitting these plans for review. In these final regulations, there are also highlights of the changes made to regulations as a result of public feedback.
