Learning about Assessment: An Evaluation of a Ten-State Effort to Build Assessment Capacity in High Schools
This report focuses primarily on the third goal of this project, which is the creation and function of teacher learning teams focused on assessment for learning.
This informative report presents an evaluation study of ten states’ efforts to build assessment knowledge, thus illustrating how state departments of education, local administrators, and teachers work toward a common goal. The report reveals the difficulties of implementing efforts to increase teachers’ capacity to use assessment effectively, which may help implementers foresee and avoid some of the obstacles that occurred in specific situations.
