Non-Regulatory Guidance: Ensuring Educational Stability for Children in Foster Care
The Every Student Succeeds Act institutes new protections for children in foster care that require state and local education agencies to work with child welfare agencies to ensure the educational stability of children in foster care. These Title I educational stability provisions take effect on December 10, 2016. In advance of this date, the U.S. Department of Education has released this document that provides answers to frequently asked questions about provisions regarding children in foster care.
