Guidelines for the Assessment of English Language Learners
This document comprises guidelines for practitioners when making suitable decisions regarding the assessment of English language learner (ELL) students in academic content areas. The guidelines provide recommendations about assessment issues relevant to ELL students, such as developing assessment specifications and items; reviewing and field testing items; scoring constructed responses; administering tests; providing test accommodations; and using statistics to evaluate assessments and scoring.
